Better with Blooms

I was very excited to plan my assignment 2 unit plan designed around Bloom’s Taxonomy. I love how Blooms addresses the cognitive domains of students learning and allows teachers to scaffold their thinking as they remember to create. I was very happy to read My Smart Classroom as she blogged about her research on Blooms.

Doing some more online searching I came across Larry Ferlazzo’s website. Here he includes lots of ICT resources and tools to help students learn through Bloom’s Taxonomy.

I done a search on Youtube to see what clips I could find that talked about Bloom’s Taxonomy. The first one I found was Bloom’s Taxonomy Overview. During this short clip, information was given about Bloom’s and the changes that have taken place over the last few years. The second clip was Bloom’s Taxonomy with an Iphone. I loved this one! It is about how a guy implements Bloom’s Taxonomy to understand and use his phone. What I learnt from this was that not only can Bloom’s Taxonomy be used to teach content, but also the things around us that we take for granted…like how to use a phone, a microwave or how to tie a shoe.

I LOVE BLOOMS TAXONOMY!
